The Great GW Conundrum Part Deux

Following on from my meanderings of August 26th last year, I thought it only fair to give you an update on what is happening at GW HQ.

As I sit here in one of the turrets of Partisan Games Towers, trying to gain as much light and heat as I can from the daily candle I am allowed in this dusty forgotten corner of said towers, I'm sure the elves have forgotten me again.

Far below me I can hear cries of anguish, I can only surmise that another owl must have landed from GW, I check the calendar, there is a note to remind me to check Grahams receding hair line, which for a 40yr old is receding faster than the popularity of Fujitsu, Horizon and the Post Office hierarchy in general.

From his mutterings on the subject of GW I am led to believe that they have shifted the goalposts yet again, it seems to be a case of "It's broken, so lets break it some more". now it would appear that not only do pre-orders have a three (yes three) week lead time, any restocks on the same order will arrive, (you guessed it) in three weeks time, if it were not for his abacus and an army of admin Elves I don't think my Lord and master could keep check on what has and hasn't been ordered, he favourite muttering at the moment seems to be "Not another GW stock check, then I have to check the stock check against last weeks stock check and then I have to ....." and so on.

I've taken to lying on my straw stuffed cot, contemplating the scene at GW when a person, or persons went into a board meeting over a year ago, and said;

At the moment we have this system whereby a retailer can order stock on a Wednesday, any stock, Pre-orders included, and we deliver it to them the same Friday, it's brilliant, it works and we've been doing it for years.

Now lets cock it up,

Firstly we build a brand new spanking warehouse to work on a system very similar to Amazons.

However before we know it works properly, we sack all the staff

Then we make sure that the Account handlers computers don't know what's in stock at any given time, we also reduce the number of account handlers we have, so when they go on holiday, there is no cover!

On top of that we make things a lot worse, by telling accounts not to release stock until retailers actually ask us to, and the invoice we raise bears no relation to what they ordered, then we make them wait three weeks for it!

We cannot fail to piss off our whole customer base.

But the best part of it is, despite us being an awful company to work for and with, they will still buy our products!

Ranting from below

NINE! BOXES! ON! MY! DAY! OFF!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think he needs a holiday, should we start a Go Fund Me page to send him away for 10 days where GW can't get in touch?

I'm locking and barring the door.

Bye for now.
