The set captures the diverse armour and equipment of Islamic cavalry, with a mix of mail and lamellar armour styles and a wide variety of helmets — from all-enclosing mail hoods with elaborate spiked helms to open-faced helmets with turbans. Seljuk Askari heads feature the distinctive three-braid hairstyle, and the Sharbush fur cap worn by chieftains (and reportedly by Saladin himself) is also included.
