The A34 Comet was the finest British cruiser tank of the Second World War — fast, well-armoured, and armed with the high-velocity 77mm HV gun, a weapon capable of defeating the Panther at combat ranges. Entering service in late 1944, the Comet arrived too late to see widespread action but proved itself decisively in the final push into Germany in 1945, outperforming every other British tank it replaced.
