A rich, warm reddish-brown with deep earthy tones, Vallejo Model Color Red Leather (70.818) is an indispensable colour for painting leather straps, belts, pouches, holsters, saddles, and worn equipment on miniatures and historical figures. Its natural warmth also makes it an excellent basecoat for dark red armour, aged wood, and rustic terrain details.

Recommended Use

Apply over a primed surface or dark basecoat such as Vallejo Burnt Umber or Dark Red. Highlight with Vallejo Flat Brown or Orange Brown for worn leather effects, or mix with Yellow Ochre for sun-bleached leather tones. Shade with Dark Red or Black Brown for deep shadow recesses. Thin with distilled water or Vallejo Airbrush Thinner for airbrushing.
